Volunteer Vacancies

Cafe Volunteer

We are looking for someone to help out with general duties in our cafe, such as serving food, registering new visitors, and maintaining a warm and welcoming space. The cafe is the heart of our organisation, so working here is incredibly rewarding - you will gain frontline experience working directly with service users and will make a tangible difference in their day-to-day lives.

If you are interested, please send your CV and a covering letter to Saskia (Volcoordinator@notredamerc.org.uk).

Volunteer French Translator

We are looking for someone to help translate documents which will be used as evidence in family reunion cases. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and French, and will have experience of translation work in the past. The workload varies depending on demand, but is generally between 10 to 20 hours per month, and it can be completed onsite or from home. Family reunion casework forms a central and highly important part of NDRC's advice services, but many of our clients are unable to afford translation services. As such, this volunteer role offers you the chance to make a crucial impact on their lives.

If you are interested, please send your CV and a covering letter to Saskia (Volcoordinator@notredamerc.org.uk).

Volunteer Cook

We are looking for someone to help with preparing and cooking lunch for our cafe visitors on Mondays. The hours are between 9am and 2pm. Cooking lunch for the NDRC involves preparing a meat dish, a vegetarian dish, and rice for up to 100 people within a limited budget. Flexibility and a certain amount of creativity are useful traits. Whilst donations of meat and pasta are received, a small amount of shopping is necessary. Additionally, working with the administrator to order and maintain a cupboard of basic food items is important. This requires a person who can plan ahead with an eye to budget. You will be assisted by another volunteer, so will not be undertaking this task alone. Our lunch service sits at the heart of the centre, making this an exceptionally rewarding role.

If you are interested, please send your CV and a covering letter to Saskia (Volcoordinator@notredamerc.org.uk).
