Notre Dame Refugee Centre is 30 years old.

For 30 years we’ve provided immigration advice, helped with housing, and offered practical support to refugees and asylum seekers in London. To celebrate this milestone, we’ve launched our "30 for 30" summer campaign. Our aim is to raise £30,000 in three months to keep services running, grow our language and integration programmes, and support people starting new lives in the UK.

Christmas Dinner was a lot of fun!

This week is Advice Week and we are supporting Advice UK’s #AdviceSaves campaign for a National Advice Workforce Strategy to address the workforce crisis facing the advice sector.

Advice Week provides us with a time to reflect on the power of advice and the difference it makes in people’s lives. At our Centre, we have seen first hand how support from advice workers can make a real difference. Since 1996, we have been supporting refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants in London.

Our advice services include free immigration advice through our Immigration Advice Line provided by IAA qualified advisers and our General Support Services provided by our dedicated team of volunteers.

Navigating the UK immigration system can be an extremely overwhelming process. Organisation such as ours ensure that those who need it have access to support with establishing their lives in the UK.

Advice is a tool of empowerment. At Notre Dame Refugee Centre, we are proud to celebrate our advice workers and volunteers and our ability to provide free, trusted and accessible advice.It All Begins Here

We are pleased to have published our latest Annual Review with an update on our work and achievements over the year (to year end 31 August 2024).

We take a look back over the year and feature a spotlight on Brian Mitchell, our Senior Immigration Adviser, who marked an incredible milestone—25 years of dedicated service at the Centre. Brian reflects on the changes he’s witnessed, both within the charity and across the immigration system.

Notre Dame Refugee Centre has published its annual review for 2022-23 to highlight some of our major achievements and impact over the year.  1,022 people came to us for help and advice and our Immigration Advisers provided casework for 466 of these.  Some of our significant outcomes included 42 people obtaining Refugee Settlement, 82 Leave to Remain and 10 successful family reunions.  62 learners attended our English classes and 139 vulnerable refugee and asylum-seeking women were supported through our specialist outreach.
