Temporary Advice Caseworker (Part-time)
NDRC is seeking to recruit an experienced Advice Caseworker initially for six months on a part-time basis. Working for 14 hours a week (over 2 days – preferably Mondays & Wednesdays/Thursdays), the postholder will have primary responsibility of providing an effective and efficient advice service for asylum seekers, refugees and other human rights applicants in conjunction with other advice workers at NDRC.
The postholder will specifically be responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient outreach service for Women for Refugee Women (WRW) from their office in London (remotely from home during COVID-19 Lockdown) and will triage and advise asylum seeking and refugee women. This would involve liaising with and providing reports to the Grassroots Coordinator and Director at WRW. NDRC Director will be your line manager and you will be supervised by NDRC Second Advice Worker/ Senior Advisor at NDRC.
Most of the women in WRW’s grassroots network are survivors of sexual violence and WRW is based in a women-only office building. This post is therefore restricted to women only as a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 paragraph 1, Equality Act 2010 and Sex Discrimination Act 1975, section 7.
The postholder will be required to have or obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
