Green party Leaders visiting our Centre

On March 22nd Jonathan Bartley, co-leader of the Green Party visited the Centre with Azadeh Hosseini. Together they have been visiting Centres around the UK to better inform themselves about refugee and asylum issues, and in particular to promote their campaign to end indefinite detention.

Jonathan had taken the step of restricting himself to living on £5 a day for a week in solidarity with single asylum seekers receiving asylum support.

Azadeh is herself a refugee. They were impressed with the Centre’s activities and stayed for lunch in the café where they could chat with volunteers and visitors
